Rich in class and style from the outset, this custom build in Hillarys by AMG Home Builders emanates a contemporary charm from its soaring entrance to the depths of its sparkling pool.
This towering build serves up some creative design techniques, with AMG Home Builders Director Matthew Kriskovich saying a simple neutral colour scheme was decided on for the build to make sure the architectural features of the home stood out.
“The entrance is definitely a standout feature of this home, from the moment you step through the 3m-high custom door, you are greeted by the views of the central courtyard and pool area. Taking a few more steps, you turn around to view a magnificent void with a floating steel spine staircase,” he said.
“The pool and outdoor area is something to be envied – this area is the ultimate entertaining space.”
Providing hours of fun for the whole family, the outdoor zone has ample space to sit back and relax, with the waterfall fountain adding further tranquility.
Mr Kriskovich said the clients wanted a home which could meet the needs of their growing family and to ensure each area was zoned in a manner which gave everyone their own space.
“Privacy was high on the agenda and this definitely influenced how we designed the entertaining areas,” he said.
“A family of five with three teenage kids creates a busy household. This home needed to be carefully zoned so everyone had their private space, with each minor bedroom having its own ensuite.
“The master bedroom also consists of a large study/retreat and its own private staircase.”
The home offers a sleek and streamlined look, with the open-plan living area being no exception.
The indoor entertaining area flows seamlessly out onto the alfresco, with the appliances and features spread across these zones combining to create the ultimate place to host family and friends.
Adorned in dark tones, the kitchen hosts a great amount of storage options, with lighter statements used on the benchtops.
The hero of this area, the island bench provides space for the whole family to sit around and enjoy casual dining or for guests to gather around and converse.
From the cooktop to the gleaming splashback, no stone has been left unturned when it comes to quality and sophistication in the kitchen and preceding storage and preparation space that rests just behind.
A simply stylish pendant light is suspended above the dining area, with this zone leading straight across to the living, offering an abundance of floor space to enjoy the meals created in the well-equipped kitchen.
The flowing nature of this zone is reflected on the outside of the build through striking and defining straight lines, with flat concealed roofs being the cherry on top. Large overhanging eaves also add another layer of interest and character.
Mr Kriskovich said the elevation of the property and its vistas were a big factor in how the home was designed, with almost every vantage point on the first floor offering views.
“The opportunity to design a home with a central two-storey courtyard being the focal point was an exciting prospect, and the ocean views from the second level was a huge factor in the way the home was designed,” he said.
“Expansive glazing has been used to make sure there are views to the courtyard from almost every room in the home.”
