H.E.R. comes home to host Lights On Festival in Concord

H.E.R. was already a superstar before this year rolled around.

But in 2021, the Vallejo native has certainly taken her career to the next level — and then some.

Her accomplishments this year include winning the trophy for best original song for “Fight for You” — from the film “Judas and the Black Messiah” — alongside co-writers Dernst Emile II (“D’Mile”) and Tiara Thomas at the 93rd annual Academy Awards back in April.

The R&B star also won the song of the year category — with “I Can’t Breathe” — during the Grammy Awards in March and performed an amazing version of “America the Beautiful” at the Super Bowl in 2021.

H.E.R.’s big year continues as she hosts the two-day Lights On Festival Sept. 18-19 at the Concord Pavilion.
