Inland Empire 66ers, Rancho Cucamonga Quakes open minor league baseball season – Daily Bulletin

Minor league baseball’s first pitch, first cheer and first concession sale since the coronavirus pandemic came Tuesday, May 4, as the Inland Empire 66ers hosted the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes.

The two teams will play six games in a row at San Manuel Stadium in San Bernardino, part of efforts to reduce travel and the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Tuesday was also the first game for the Lake Elsinore Storm, who are playing a series in Visalia before returning home Tuesday, May 11, to face the 66ers.
