Kangana Ranaut’s Twitter account suspended for violating the ‘hateful conduct’ policy

Kangana Ranaut is an active voice in whatever the matter may be, politics, environment, movies, feminism, etc. Her views on things get her polarised reactions from the netizens and last night’s tweet demanding President’s Rule in West Bengal may have sparked a fire that caused the social media platform to take this action.

Kangana Ranaut reportedly tweeted about the horrific violence taking place in several small districts in the state and had allegedly made an incendiary comment about Modi taking up his “Virat roop from the early 2000s…” to put a stop to the violence. This suggestive tweet caused a riot on social media where people started to question Kangana on what she was referring to with the “early 2000s’ roop.”

A spokesperson from Twitter said, “We’ve been clear that we will take strong enforcement action on behaviour that has the potential to lead to offline harm. The referenced account has been permanently suspended for repeated violations of Twitter Rules specifically our Hateful Conduct policy and Abusive Behaviour policy. We enforce the Twitter Rules judiciously and impartially for everyone on our service.”

This is not the first time Kangana has been penalised on Twitter. A few restrictions were imposed on her account when she made a comment about the web series Tandav and said, ’time to take heads off’
