Foden struck from distance to give Manchester City the lead and secure a spot in the semi-finals of the Champions League for just the second time in the club’s history.
It was Foden who got the decisive second goal in the first leg and Crouch was full of praise for the ‘amazing’ midfielder.

The Manchester City midfielder got the winning goal to defeat Borussia Dortmund in both legs
‘He’s 20 years old and he has absolutely no fear whatsoever,’ Crouch told BT Sport.
‘Man City fans can relate to him, he’s a mainstay in the team and that’s what fans want to see. He’s been fabulous this season.’
Foden added a second goal to give City peace of mind on the night after Riyad Mahrez had earlier equalised from the penalty spot.
He immediately sprinted over to the City bench to celebrate with boss Pep Guardiola in rare emotional scenes as they chase a famous quadruple.
He took aim from range and Peter Crouch insisted the 20-year-old has ‘no fear whatsoever’
Another English midfielder starred over the two games in the form of Jude Bellingham (centre)
Jude Bellingham, another talented English midfielder, was the other stand-out player across the two games and he had nudged Borussia Dortmund ahead in the tie when he scored his first Champions League goal.
For Owen Hargreaves, the performances of both Foden and Bellingham point to a bright future for the national team.
‘We are blessed to have a player like Phil Foden,’ Hargreaves said.
‘He’s incredible and with Jude Bellingham the future of English football is so bright. (Bellingham) is unbelievable. He’s amazing.
‘He has the instinct to arrive in the box and the quality to do that is scary. The more you watch him the more he blows you away.’
Crouch was full of praise for both players and believes their form is good news for England
Both are pushing to be included in Gareth Southgate’s England Euros squad this summer
Crouch added: ‘Two of the best players over the two legs are two English prospects and it’s a lot to be excited about.
‘They look hungry, talented and it bodes well for us.’
Both Foden, 20, and Bellingham, 17, are pushing to be selected as part of Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions squad for this summer’s rearranged European Championships.
The Stockport-born City midfielder has six senior England caps to his name so far while Bellingham has two appearances under Southgate.
